Hi, this is the Herts college CU page. We have lots of things going on every week and we'd love to see you, so here it goes:
Wednesday: Our big meeting. Everyone's invited, it happens down in the Van Noorden Room, next to the Swift Room, its the one with the bean bags down the dodge alleway opposite the lodge in OB quad. 7.45pm, but no worries if you're late / can only make a bit / you get the idea. We have a bible study, songs praising God, prayer, fellowship and probably anything you want to see going on there if you suggest it - please do! NB: Every even week we head down for the main OICCU meeting where we get all the colleges together and do basically the same thing, but with everyone there, check the OICCU regular events page for where it is.
Thursday: Our College Prayer Meeting. We get together at 1.30pm in the Van Noorden Room (we like it in there) to pray for our witness to the college. We'd really love to see you there.
Also: Mens and Womens fellowship. This happens once a week, in separate groups for... men and women. The blokes meet on Thursday at 7pm in the Van Noorden Room to chat about an issue that we want to know more about (eg stress, prayer, Job, family were some recent ones) and pray together. We'll let you know what the girls get up to as soon as possible!
We've got a chapel in Hertford, Leanne Roberts is the Chaplain, and for info of their services see http://chapelweb.hertford.ox.ac.uk and click on services on the left. We often get a few of us down to the Sunday evensong which has some great speakers (inc Chaplain!) and the Tuesday Compline too. There is a Chapel choir for anyone who enjoys singing.
There's OICCU stuff going on too: Every other Wednesday it's the main meeting, with 7pm prayer before and prayer after if you want. Monday 8am is a central prayer meeting at New Road Baptist Church (opposite Westgate centre), with a lot of breakfast and good songs after the prayer. You can get away in time for 9am lectures. Friday is Big Issues at Copa on George St, 1pm for free food for a 1.15pm start. There's a different speaker every week, all provoking a different issue.
All this stuff is well worth a go, and you can get as involved as you want, but you can pick and choose anything that takes your fancy.
If you have any problems, want a chat or anything else, we'd love to hear from you. The reps' emails are above and we'll put our room extensions there when we know them.
